Heat wave continues to scorch south China

BEIJING - The National Meteorological Center (NMC，全国气象中心) Wednesday continued its high temperature alert for south China as the hot weather is expected to persist over the next three days.周三国家气象中心持续高温警告，未来三天，中国南方的炎热天气将会持续。

The weather agency forecast temperatures in South China's Guangdong province and Guangxi Zhuang autonomous region自治区, and most areas south of the Yangtze River to stay around 35 to 37 degrees Celsius摄氏度 over the coming three days, but the heat waves will be less intense强烈的，紧张的.

It urged people in these regions to cancel outdoor activities in the early afternoon when temperatures are the highest and advised outdoor workers to protect themselves from the hot weather. The NMC also warned that strong winds are likely to sweep（席卷） the East China Sea and Taiwan as Typhoon Muifa, which is expected to be upgraded to a super typhoon, is moving northwestward.
